Principal Platform Architect

Base44 is looking for a Principal Platform Architect to lead the technical vision and architecture of our revolutionary app creation platform. This role requires a seasoned technologist who can bridge the gap between high-level system design and practical implementation, while ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. You'll be responsible for making critical architectural decisions that will shape the future of our platform and enable millions of users to create applications through natural language.

Technical Leadership & Architecture:

Define and evolve the technical architecture of Base44's platform
Make critical decisions about technologies, frameworks, and infrastructure
Design systems for extreme scalability and reliability
Create architectural guidelines and best practices
Lead technical discovery and proof-of-concept initiatives

System Design & Implementation:

Design distributed systems that can handle millions of concurrent users
Architect secure multi-tenant environments
Create efficient data storage and processing systems
Design APIs and integration patterns
Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions

Technical Strategy & Innovation:

Drive technical innovation and experimentation
Evaluate emerging technologies and their potential impact
Collaborate with leadership on technical strategy
Mentor and guide senior engineers
Contribute to technical decision-making at all levels

Requirements:

15+ years of software engineering experience
10+ years of architectural experience with large-scale distributed systems
Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure)
Extensive experience with microservices architecture
Strong background in security and compliance
Track record of successful large-scale system designs
Experience with real-time systems and event-driven architectures
History of technical leadership in high-growth companies
Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical decisions
